SUMMER 2021 Student Registration

SOLD OUT

CLASS SCHEDULE
All classes are held at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney.

With regard to COVID protocols, we expect that by the end of August we will be able to have a more normal programme with a show that will include an audience.

Classes operate each weekday (Monday to Friday) from AUGUST 16 through AUGUST 27, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  We will have a 30 minute lunch break.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE and AGE REQUIREMENTS

We prefer students who have had some experience on the stage or performing in front of an audience.  If  you have no experience, but are interested, you can certainly register and we will call you to see if this programme is a fit for you.

Students must be at least 10 years of age at the start of the summer programme on August 16.

You do not have to audition to participate in the summer theatre programme - everyone registered will have a role, and everyone will participate in the classes.  However, space is limited!

WHAT IS IN THE CLASS?

This is an intensive triple-threat musical theatre experience.  We are going to work on a show that is performed in the Charlie White Theatre at the Mary Winspear Centre at the end of the two weeks.  The development towards an actual show is a useful means to provide the excellent training that we are known for.

We will be teaching the basics of musical theatre, as well as aspects of the three disciplines: singing, acting, dancing.  For those with more experience, they will tackle more advanced topics like character development, improvisation, technical theatre, design, and more.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
Dance wear or loose clothing (track suit). No blue jeans. Black dance shoes or jazz shoes. No tap shoes. Pencil, binder and  water bottle.  Bring a lunch meal each day.  We do not have facilities to warm up meals.

Students may be asked to provide items of clothing from their own wardrobe for some costuming.

WITHDRAWAL OF STUDENTS
Students may withdraw, but all fees are non refundable.

ATTENDANCE

Students who miss classes put themselves and their fellow performers at a disadvantage. Students who miss a class are expected to contact other students and engage in further home study to ensure that they are able to keep up. Refunds/discounts are not given for missed classes.  At the director's discretion, students who miss more than two classes may not be able to participate on stage, but may be assigned backstage duties.
