About Mountain Dream
At Mountain Dream, we foster a safe, fun and dynamic learning environment where students develop their performing skills and develop themselves at the same time.
Mountain Dream Productions has been producing shows in Victoria and around Vancouver Island since 1990 and has produced 16 major musicals at the McPherson Playhouse, the Royal Theatre, the Belfry Theatre and the Charlie White Theatre, as well as over 100 original cabaret and studio shows.
We are proud members of the Educational Theatre Association and the Musical Theatre Educators' Alliance, two international bodies of theatre educators as well as the American Alliance for Theatre & Education and the American Association of Community Theatre. Our all-volunteer staff (including management!) loves to share their passion for Musical Theatre with all the students.

We are continuously upgrading our craft through ongoing classes with the above associations as well as from performing professionals and master educators at Broadway Teacher's Workshop, the International Thespian Association, Broadway Weekends at Home, and other master classes.
The Management Team
Our Artistic Director, Margaret Watt, has been involved in the performing arts since the age of eight. As a skater, she became the Canadian junior champion and went on to coaching and choreography for ice shows and individuals. As an actor, she has performed in Anne of Green Gables, Starlight Cabaret, South Pacific and many other shows prior to becoming a choreographer and director. Margaret has written, produced, choreographed and directed more than 100 different productions.
Our Managing Director and producer, Robert Forbes, is a published author, and an award-winning musician and photographer. He has organized and orchestrated large scale productions with casts numbering in the hundreds for over 20 years in Ontario, prior to moving to Victoria.

All our instructors bring a diverse background of dance, acting and singing to the classroom, and all have extensive experience with young people, and are continuously engaged in professional development to be sure that we remain at the forefront of the latest techniques and trends.
All our instructors and volunteers bring a passion for the performing arts from their own varied and exciting backgrounds - actors, writers, dance teachers, dancers, singers - all offer their time to all our students to foster the performing dream.

A triple-threat performer can sing, act and dance. All students perform dialogue, sing songs, act and dance on stage in order to understand the craft of the triple-threat performer. Classes will cover all aspects of the triple-threat performer's toolkit and will develop confidence and skill in all performing skills.

Mountain Dream students have gone on to rewarding and successful careers performing on television, film and on the professional stage, including Broadway, cruise lines, and touring companies around the world .
